Hi! I'm Ashleigh.

So I'm a 36yo single chick from Melbourne, Australia. I've got a background of working in broadcast media (radio) and I pursue acting and stand-up comedy as a hobby.

I quit my full time job of ten years last year and I'm currently spending my free time pursuing creative projects and trying to work out what the next little while of my life looks like.

I just came back from backpacking for six months around South East Asia and Europe, and I'm heading to America in July.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm only staying in NYC and Boston for 4 days each, so I want to meet some locals who can give me good advice and show me hidden gems of your neighbourhood.

I'll be up and out early most days, but I'd be keen to meet out out for dinner/ a live jazz show/ karaoke, and then we can head back home!

I love meeting fellow travellers and children of the universe and hope to offer a spare couch for other like-minded individuals one day when I have my own place back at home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I shattered a pint glass with my singing voice - true story.

It was on the footpath outside a house party while I was singing the opening verse to 'Defying Gravity'.

And it was actually a LOW note that hit the particular resonating pitch that vibrated the glass just so, to make it first crack then shatter entirely.

I can teach informal psychology after paying thousands of dollars over a decade seeking professional counselling for myself and my personal problems. I'm a great sounding board and a supportive friend. I can teach ukulele.
