About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trust! Loyalty! Niceness!

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty chill. I like to explore new places (I know, it's shocking that someone on Couchsurfing would like that) and I'm generally up for just about anything.

PHILOSOPHY

Question things without being an idiot about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host because I'm traveling for research, but I'd ideally like to participate by staying on your couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Never done it formally through this site, but I've stayed with friends of friends of friends of friends quite a few times and always had a great time. I'm the kind of person who can easily make their own fun anywhere and is very adaptable, so I generally get along well with nearly everyone.

Interests

I like many, many things, particularly if we can grab a drink and hang out during. I love trying new things, so ask me and I'll be up for it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Aguirre The Wrath of God, Come and See, Spirited Away, Urgh! A Music War, Rosemary's Baby

Music: I'm a huge post-punk/New Wave geek. If it came out in the eighties and the lead singer has a terrible haircut, I probably want to listen to it.

Books: I'm such a dork. I think like 90% of what I read is biographies. Historical biographies, not even cool ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not so much amazing as it is an indication of my utter lack of grace, but once I was hiking in Extremadura and I wasn't looking where I was going and fell down into the ruins of a house built into a hill. I was stuck in there for about two hours until my friend found me, but in the meantime the house was full of Francoist pamphlets from the forties so I just read those.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can actually do a lot of things, sort of. I know how to cook (especially Jewish and Cuban food because those two cuisines are totally related). I can paint fairly well. I've lived in quite a few places so I can give you detailed info on them if you ever want to go there. Also I know how to read 14th-17th century script in Spanish, Portuguese, Latin, and English but honestly that pretty much never comes up in casual conversation :(

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, United States
