About Me

Aloha! E komo mai, and nice to meet you!

I live in Hawaii, paraíso! :) I work full time in conservation restoring vegetation and protecting endangered species in Hawaii. I am a food connoisseur, music lover, museum seeker, and scenic hike viewer. I play beach volleyball, hike incredible ridges trails, surf, whale watch when the humpbacks come to visit every winter, garden, bake sourdough loaves & focaccia - mi favorita!

I grew up in Chicago and worked in corporate before quitting my job and moving to Maui in search for a meaningful career and healthier lifestyle (and warmer weather brr Chicago es muy frio!). My father is from Mexico however we spoke english in our household so I have a huge desire to become fluent in Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I absolutely love traveling! I am not shy to travel solo, however connecting with the locals while traveling would make my travels so much more meaningful :)

am craving connection with like minded individuals who value travel, self discovery and experiencing the beauty of different land, natural wonders, cultures, people, food, drink etc.

I have a desire to solo travel more internationally, and would like to connect with locals for housing, friendship and recommendations in their country.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I like bluegrass, folk rock, funk, blues, alternative indie, pop, oldies, surf rock, and hip hop. The Dead South, Taj Mahal, Jack Johnson, Paula Fuga, Lake Street Dive, Amy Winehouse, Polo &Pan

Movies - I love Goodfellas, Step Brothers, Inglorious Bastards, Elf, Hocus Pocus, Princess Bride, She's the Man,

One of my favorite cities in the U.S. is New Orleans. It is beautifully swampy with old weeping willow trees. The seafood, gumbo, jambalaya, beignets and butter everything hehe. Amazing music in the streets and voodoo magic and energy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Performed on Broadway in Chicago as a singer in a children's choir.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're staying in Maui, I'd love to share my favorite spots for hikes, food, music, beaches, surf, and waterfalls.

I'd love to teach you about caring for Hawaii's native forests including our endemic and native trees, plants and birds. I can also teach you about harvesting from fruit trees and safe practices regarding parasites and diseases.

I'd love to learn your rituals around making your traditional food dishes from your country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Respect for your space, your things and your schedule. I will act with love and gratitude to your home and pets as I do with mine. I was once a landlord and I know what its like to maintain a home, keeping stock of toilet paper, dish soap, changing light bulbs etc.

I would love to open my space up for you if you ever wish to travel to Maui Hawaii. I live in a studio on a beautiful property on the mountainside of the volcano with my two siamese cats. I have a couch and shared bathroom, kitchen and laundry.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Japan, Mexico, Spain
