CURRENT MISSION

I was introduced to this website by my close friend since I like to save money traveling plus meeting some awesome people in new places. Want to enrich my experience by meeting all people from different cultures.

ABOUT ME

I am Deaf so naturally, my language is American Sign Language and also fluent in English for writing and reading. So if the host is at least decent in my native language, then it would be a bonus but writing notes back and forth would be a great common ground! I am a hardcore geek.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an atheist so I live by the day to the fullest. That is how it is simple for me. But I am an ambitious person with strong self-confidence. I am considerate of others. My daughters are basically my world.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I travel when I can but I can be a host to any travelers needing a stop in Oneonta where I currently reside in.
I would love to offer a great experience to any couchsurfer by offering the exposure to my Deaf culture if you are curious about that. Show you around in this quasi-sleepy town of Oneonta. One warning here: I do not own a car but live in the downtown area. We could play board games like Forbidden Island, Catan, and others!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have zero experience as a host but LOADS of traveling experience with staying at friends' places for years. I always honor all the rules set by the host. A good idea to discuss the rules in advance to help me decide to accept or decline or the other way around.

Science fiction, horror, fantasy movies like Lord of The Rings, Avatar, Thirteen Ghosts. Music is irrelevant to me as I am Deaf. I read many books as much as I can. The current one I am reading is Coyote by Allen Steele. My favorite authors for the science fiction are Robert A.Heinlein, Larry Niven, Fred Saberhagen, Robert Sawyer, and John Scalzi. For the horror, it is Clive Barker and Robert McCammon. I also read science books like the Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. I am an avid comic book reader and collector. If I am asked which I prefer, DC or Marvel, then it is DC. But I draw the greatest personal appreciation from comic books by independent comic book companies.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Having a 9 week internship as a curatorial intern at the Deaf Culture Centre in Toronto, Ontario was an amazing accomplishment as well as experience on many levels! My daughters being born were also amazing for me! I have seen so many amazing things that I can't list here! Like being at the top of CNC Tower in Toronto to see the whole city landscape !!!

As I am a member of the Deaf culture and could meet different people from different cultures, even Deaf cultures in other countries and we can learn from each other. Hearing people are also welcome! Even though I am an ambivert but still appreciate meeting new people!
