About Me

Find some fun and friendly hosts in Budapest since I am "in between" homes at the moment

I've been living in Braşov, Romania for the past three months, and will be volunteering my work on a farm near Järna, Sweden beginning on the 26th of October. I will be moving away from Romania by the end of September, and will be spending some time in Budapest and Stockholm before I begin working on the farm.

I am a music nerd, and particularly love old metal, 60s/70s rock, punk, and post-punk. I am working on becoming fluent in Norwegian (but still have quite a ways to go.) I'm a nomadic spirit and thus regularly am stricken by wanderlust! I've recently taken an interest in theoretical physics/particle physics/cosmology/quantum mechanics and love documentaries about these topics. I really want to go back to school someday for mathematics.

I think it would be too difficult to explain in this small box!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Soon I will be moving to a small village in Sweden, living as a guest on a farm, so I probably won't be able to host for some time. I would be happy though to hang out, have coffee, or show folks around the area if they are staying in Stockholm and want a break from big city-life.

I have couch-surfed just once via the CS website, and it was the first time my host had participated in this as well. She was a super nice lady and we got along very well, so it turned out to be an excellent experience. Anytime I've traveled before, I have always stayed with people whom I have personally known, so most of my experiences have all been pretty great. I hope to have some more great experiences couch surfing by using the CS website very soon!

I enjoy listening to, playing, and researching music. (I play bass guitar and clarinet.) Traveling (not surprisingly), studying Norwegian, Icelandic, and Romanian, learning in general, reading, working with and on behalf of animals when I can, and spending time with friends and family are all things I love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on tour with my friends' metal band from Europe called Coffins up and down the west coast of the United States the week before my finals during the spring of 2009. I was doing homework and studying on the road and submitting assignments via snail-mail. I made it back just in time for my first final, and managed to pull off pretty good grades for the semester. It was a little stressful, but completely well worth it! Getting to spend quality time with friends who live thousands of miles away while seeing the world at the same time is really hard to pass up!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some of my knowledge I've gained from school about economic and/or psychological theory/thought if anyone is interested, haha. I have a lot of knowledge about various types of old and obscure rock music as well.

I would like to learn how to sew and cook better! If anyone wants to teach me any good vegetarian recipes they know, or wants to help me become at least decent at sewing, I'm all for it!
