About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To go on the adventure of a lifetime that does not depend overmuch on my humming a theme song.

ABOUT ME

First thing I would want people to know is... I like to think I am funny. Unfortunately, a majority of what I say is meant as a joke and if an individual is unaware of this misunderstandings can/do/have occurred.

I spend a lot of time reading, the content and topics can vary so much as to not seem to make much sense. My only defense is that I am a moody creature and what I read tends to reflect that... no matter how well written (or not in some unfortunate cases).

I am a hopeless romantic at heart with a soft spot for atmosphere and... puppies. I don't know; really I was just trying to justify in large number of romance novels I happen to own and an even greater amount that I am likely to read (I do have standards where my money is concerned, too bad my mind is subjected to them as well really).

I like to make anything an adventure. It could be something as simple as a trip to the store or mailing... stuff. (I do an aweful lot of mailing at work, after a while you will do anything to keep from going insane). Making things into an adventure generally involves humming a theme song and lots of sneaking around. Keep in mind that I am from a very small, rural town and that I went off to college in an even smaller, rural town which means making your own fun. (My idea of fun has been known to include rolling down hills and playing tag... maybe I am a child at heart. ::shrug::)

I have a dog whom I love more than all of my books and spoil rotten. He has more toys than I have shoes. That isnt to say that I have a lot of shoes, I like to think I am about average for a female, but when you consider that I have been accumulating my shoes for years and I have only had the boy for a little over a year... it puts it into perspective I think.

I am employed with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources as a Home Finding Specialist. My job is to recruit and evaluate people who want to become foster/adoptive parents. My job ensures that the safety of children in the states' care and helps to find the correct matches for people to complete their families. This involves a lot of interviewing, writing, and as I mentioned before, mailing.

If there is anything else you want to know, feel free to ask. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that every thing you do or say to people can have a significant impact on their lives and so I live my life trying to do the least amount of harm I can.

I believe that people have the right to make their own decisions and live their own lives without having to explain themselves to me or society as a whole. Be who you are, as that is the only thing you need to be.
