I’m a fun-loving, adventurous and curious Nebraskan who is excited to see the treasures the rest of the world has to offer. I love meeting new people, trying new things and immersing myself into unique cultures. I’m ready to leave my day job and become fulfilled with experiences abroad.

I am currently backpacking through Europe as part of a gap year experience. I worked as an assistant at a financial firm for 3 years to save up for my trip. I have just graduated high school and am looking for some real-life adventures before committing to university fully.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am taking a backpacking trip across Europe, and am in search of great opportunities through meeting locals and experiencing the country they live in. I hope to hear stories and learn more about places that I would have never found otherwise.

Interests

I love experiencing incredible things in their raw form. Things like live music — where you can feel the beat pounding in your chest — and traveling, where you can feel natural beauty in the palm of your hand and through the breath of your lungs; something that photographs can’t quite capture. I have a blog for my travels (https://sincerelyelsewhere.com) and am focused on keeping an extensive journal in hopes of possibly publishing it into a book later on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music - Basically anything! My playlists range from pop, country, singer/songwriter, alternative and everything in between. I love listening to new artists and songs. Also an avid concert-goer. Some of my favorites: Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, Matt Maeson, Tom Walker, Dermot Kennedy, Sam Smith, and many more.

Favorite Movie - The Great Gatsby or Hairspray (Not a huge movie watcher but I love Netflix too!) My favorite show is New Girl.

Favorite Book - The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien, Neither Here Nor There by Bill Bryson, On the Road by Jack Kerouac. Also whatever textbook I’m reading for my online college classes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked through a glacier in Iceland, spent my 19th birthday in Stockholm, almost got blown off of a mountain in Edinburgh, etc. Good times!

I would be happy to learn anything about the places I’m staying in or the cultures that I am observing. I love to hear stories and would be willing to share awesome experiences with those around me. Although I am young, I have had many opportunities in life that have shaped me into who I am, and I am always happy to learn more!

I am respectful and responsible, kind and polite, and considerate of those around me. I would be willing to help out with anything needed in order to make my stay more memorable and positive.
