About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to do things I can't prepare for. Reacting to opportunities as they arise, and not becoming fixed in only doing one thing in the future. This mindset has led me on some unique opportunities recently.

ABOUT ME

A statement that changed how I viewed education was this: “The more you know, the more you can learn.” Education became a challenge to me, something that didn’t stop once the semester was over. Having received my college degree, I’m constantly looking for opportunities to improve myself. My current areas of study are: learning languages, being an active member of the public speaking organization Toastmasters, and devoting myself to learning programming.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't dwell on external events that are outside my control. I also adhere to the "A complaint free world" mindset outlined by Will Bowen. It took me 3.5 months to go 30 straight days without complaining, but it was definitely worth it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Connecting with new groups of people, whether through places like Meetup.com, Couchsurfing, or the local Makerspace. I enjoy meeting new people and understanding what it is that interests them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've used Couchsurfing several times for conversational Spanish practice here in Jacksonville Fl. Everyone that I met was very motivated and interested in meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

my favorite author is Charles Bukowski. I also enjoy the works of Jonathan Ames and Gregory David Roberts' "Shantaram."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked down a mountain in Argentina for six hours while there was a snowstorm so that I could make my flight in time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I struggled learning foreign languages in school. It wasn't until I found exciting and effective ways of doing it on my own, that I finally started learning the language. The methods I used to learn a language have helped me in learning other subjects.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, France, United Kingdom
