Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Laugh a lot. Meet creative and critical folks. Get to know urban centers; cafes, clubs, museums, etc.
ABOUT ME
i am kind, curious, and queer-identified.
love socializing, but also need alone-time; usually for reading or wandering through art-museums.
i enjoy wine, kick-boxing, yoga, and dancing with friends. i drink a lot of good coffee and eat lots of chocolate. i recently moved to the Bay Area, california (berkeley/oakland/sanfrancisco) after having lived in L.A. for the past 4 years, and Portland, Oregon before that. i have found some type of love for each location.
i try to combine my interests in creative writing and feminist/queer environmental studies in learning and writing methods. i'm completing the first year of my PhD in critical environmental studies (a social science degree).
currently doing research in Buenos Aires, where I visit a lot, but considering re-placing my work to Portland, Oregon (my home-town area).
i don't travel to "collect" experiences, but to develop relationships with people, places, and energies.

Music, Movies, and Books
Most recent great film watched, and so-far favorite, "Women Without Men" - beautiful surrealist Persian work of art about 4 women at the turn of the Iranian revolution.
Love Santigold, Oh Land, the XX, Erykah Badu, sleigh bells, jazz, funk, indie/rock, classical music
recent favorite book, "White Teeth", by Zadie Smith. gorgeous long novel about coming of age in a critical conjuncture of race, gender, and transnational neo/colonialism (India, Jamaica, U.K.).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
amazing sights: the arid, northwest landscape of Jujuy, Argentina.
a sunny, clear day at the top of the lift on Oregon's Mount Hood - a panoramic view of snow covered forests for miles and miles.
out of breath: plunging into the frigid north Pacific off the coast of Oregon.
Countries I’ve Visited
China, Japan, Mexico, Uruguay
