CURRENT MISSION

Hello world :) I’m Ash. 31 year old male. Long time traveller- although I’ve been back in Australia for the last 5 years- thought I’d give the stable life a go. It was beautiful, ran my own business, was part of a beautiful community, allowed the space for other aspects of me to flourish, though it wasn’t long before the road was calling me again. So here I am, out in the world again. Slow travelling. Seeking the soul of places. Looking to stay put in places, find work, meet community, create together.

ABOUT ME

I’m a guy that lovesss connecting, and creating. I’m a builder be trade- I build houses- renovate and refurbish old houses, design and build natural houses. Passionate about grass-roots and community projects. On the side I do some bodywork. I love touch. It’s medicine. I occasionally do treatments, coming into a time of my life where I want to pursue this more.
I play music- not great at it, but I love it and get by!
My life revolves around the ocean. I love it, I dive, surf, and just love floating in it, surrendering to the ocean.
I’m very aware of myself, my spaces, and am very conscious of others- aware and attuned to energies.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I consider myself a seasoned traveller- but I’ve never actually used this platform!! I guess I’ve always been pretty rouge- sleeping wherever I find myself that night, hha.
So here I am, currently moving slowly through Europe, and singing up to couch surfing!

Interests

The world. Culture. Deep connection to animals. Surfing, long walks, good conversations. Music, cinema, story telling. Reflection- on myself and life. Watching life go by.

Music, Movies, and Books

Literature, cinema and music are a big part of my life. I love good cinema- finding obscure world films, stories from small corners of the world, we all have a story.
Whenever I’m in a new place- part of meeting the soul of a place, for me, is in its music and poetry. Currently in Turkey, discovering a lot beautiful folk music and reading Turkish poetry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Nepal after the earthquake and lived in the Himalayas for 3.5 years, re building homes and living a simple life in the mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach??? We’ll, I’ve run many community based projects revolving around building. I beileve I’m a good teacher in this regards.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Oh so much!! Depends what we align on. Watch some good cinema? Connect through music? Cooking amazing food, going for a surf, doing a workout together. Or maybe just a good conversation?
Can exchange a bodywork treatment of it alligns
Or perhaps- we both recognise that we value our own space and just share a space peacefully ??! Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out.
