About Me

[ENG] I'm an Industrial Engineer, though over the last few years my path has shifted towards more hands-on and people-oriented work: sailing instructor and, more recently, a year working with a local NGO in Guatemala. That chapter just finished, and now travelling through Central America.

Quite sociable and curious, and generally connecting easily with people from different backgrounds. Love the sea, the mountains, nature, animals... so any plan involving either tends to be a good one!

Long conversations about politics, philosophy or culture (literature, cinema, etc.) are always welcomed, but simple plans work just as well: cooking together, going for a walk, or sharing a beer.

Originally from Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain). Travelling has been a big part of life: crossed the Atlantic by sailboat with my family (including a year living onboard), backpacked around Southeast Asia, did a 3-month camping road trip in Australia, studied in Sweden, and spent the last year living and working in Guatemala.

New to Couchsurfing, but genuinely interested in the experience — meeting locals, understanding places beyond the surface, and sharing time in a relaxed and respectful way. Happy to adapt to your routine and contribute however it makes sense.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I want to share experiences and stories with others, and get to know different cultures. Love to travel, but not in a touristic way; what I enjoy the most is to meet people from everywhere.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ten years ago my brother and my parents and myself went on a trip around the North Atlantic Ocean by sailboat (from Spain to the Caribbean, passing through Cabo Verde).

There I was able to meet many different cultures, mainly of the Caribbean Sea, and even swim with sharks and dolphins!

I've also slept on the desert during a sandstorm (well, all the storms there happen to be sandstorms). But maybe my most challenging experience was to have to live (while I was 12) in Polad with a local family, which was barely able to communicate with me, for a week (and by my own).

Teach, Learn, Share

We can practise some Spanish or French, or share some amazing places to visit.
