Hey! I’m Hakan — part Turkish, part Romanian, and full-time curious human. 🇹🇷🇷🇴I work for the Turkish operations of a French insurance company, which basically means I spend my days talking about risk, and my nights taking them by traveling.

I’m mostly based in Istanbul (best food, no debate), but sometimes you can find me wandering around Romania too. I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and laughing at Google Maps when it confidently leads us the wrong way — because getting lost is part of the fun, right?

I’m here to meet fellow travelers, explorers, and anyone who’s up for sharing stories or discovering new places together. If you’re into spontaneous city walks, deep conversations, or just getting coffee and people-watching like pros, we’ll probably get along great.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to experience a place is through people, not guidebooks. I love meeting fellow travelers and locals who are open to sharing not just a couch, but also their stories, laughs, and maybe even some secret spots only locals know!

I’d really like to find people to travel with, explore together, and create unforgettable memories — whether it’s getting lost in a new city or finding the best local food we can’t pronounce.

Also, I’m working on improving my English, so if you’re up for some language exchange while we discover new places, that’s a win-win!

Good company, positive vibes, and great conversation — with a sprinkle of Turkish/Romanian culture on top! I can share travel stories, cook a simple (but delicious) Turkish dish, or teach you a few fun Turkish words (warning: they may be about food).

I’m clean, respectful, and happy to help around the house — dishes, trash, even bad jokes (I’ve got plenty). If you’re learning Turkish I’d love to help — and in return, you can help me level up my English or teach me something in your language!

Basically: if you offer the couch, I’ll bring the stories, smiles, and maybe some Turkish coffee too.
