About Me

Hey, I'm Azi! I'm a recent graduate from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. I'm currently working for a tech startup in San Francisco on the Business Operations and Growth teams.

In my spare time, you'll find me:
-reading literature or textbooks (weird, right?)
-hiking
-practicing martial arts (Taijiquan and Wing Chun in particular)
-cooking. I eat paleo and I've learned many delicious paleo recipes over the past couple of years.
-working out. Deadlifts, squats, and hang cleans are my bread and butter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm backpacking Europe with my brother from mid-July to mid-August of 2016, and I would love to hang out with locals while we're traveling!

Plus I'd love to meet up with people visiting San Francisco and show them around my city.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music interests are very diverse... hip-hop (J Cole, Kendrick Lamar), chill house (i.e. Kygo), indie (Made in Heights), folk (The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons), pop (Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Bastille)

As for books, I'm a true bookworm. I'm usually reading 3 books at any given point. My general mix is classic literature, nonfiction (psychology, science, biography), or fantasy/sci fi. Some of my favorites include:
-Thinking Fast and Slow
-War and Peace
-Anna Karenina
-Lord of the Rings
-Fooled by Randomness
-Rationality: From AI to Zombies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Here is (more than) one amazing thing I've done:

1) I taught myself Urdu in 3 months so that I could pass a language proficiency exam.
2) I won a data science competition a few months ago
3) My max deadlift is 365 pounds.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1) Great food, if you let me cook
2) Brilliant conversation about basically anything
3) Dancing, if you're into that
4) A good workout

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Pakistan, Peru, Spain
