ABOUT ME

I think the only way to experience a new country/city is to stay in you friend's place and have someone local to show you around. Hotels suck so average commodity guided tours do.

I'm in love with NYC since the first time I visited it in 2004. The main reason: I wasn't a tourist, i was here for business and had my colleagues to show me around and experience the city the way New Yorkers do. I look at the people with cameras on guided tour buses, or crowding on times square and I feel really sorry that they are experiencing the city in this consumer-tourist way.

I enjoy all kinds of activities: music (playing, listening, going out for a gig), books (good ones), going out with friends, snowboarding, kitesurfing, camping and definitely TRAVELING. I wish i could travel more, but i would be more than happy to help travelers explore NYC.

Born in Leningrad, USSR (now St.Petersburg, Russia), after several years of going back and forth moved to New York in 2008.

PHILOSOPHY

My life has changed a lot. My new philosophy is openness to everything new if it is not destructive. Peace, love and hope are main principals.

I'm all about music... Indie, britpop, oldies, some punk... Radiohead, Blur, Coldpay, Chumbawamba, The Beatles...

I don't like to read the same book or watch the same movie several times. A good indie movie or indie band gig would be a good thing.
