Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted people at my house in Melbourne. We have had bad and good surfing experiences, usually people did not understand the way we lived and were not comfortable. That being said, we hosted Celine for 2 months.

I'm new to couchsurfing as a 'surfer'.

Interests

I participate in an autonomous community centre in Melbourne called Loophole, i run the Trans* and Womyns bike workshop and a DIY Crafternoon once a week. I try to read as much as possible and keep an active mind. I like to scribble and draw. Teaching myself cello also.
Ways of living that challenge the ways we are told we should be living. Being around dogs. Cooking as a way of showing love and appreciation towards people. Acknowledging privilege. Sharing ideas and learning points of view that challenge my own, sometimes i won't accept them though.

Music, Movies, and Books

The film i have most watched would probably be the Lord of the Rings trilogy, although I am ashamed to say I havent read the books. I read a lot of non-fiction. Anything about ecology, gender theory, social justice movements, any thing that has something important and challenging to say.

Any band that plays loud and has good politics. Avoiding manarchist hardcore macho bullshit seems to saturate the scene. Anything i can dance to! People that like to have fun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching a lightning storm over the ocean.
Sleeping in the forest in the middle of nowhere during a lightning storm.
Being on a pink paddle boat with a slide in the lake whilst there was a lightning storm.
