About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To work so that I can leave again and travel for as long as possible, see all that I can and meet people and learn along the way!

ABOUT ME

I'm short. :) And outgoing. I love to travel (really?!) and have been working off and on at backpackers hostels for the last 3 years. I love meeting new people from all over the world and the best way to do so, when not travelling myself, is to work in a place where the world comes to you! It's a great experience and definitely prepares me for my time abroad!

I tend to move around alot but do call Edmonton my home. I am friendly, enthusiastic and love life.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to appreciate everything that comes my way - never take anything for granted - be open and accepting and love life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but am hoping to have some soon!

Interests

Oh my! I'm going to be super un-original and say travelling. Although I appreciate and love everywhere I go, I have this strange (or maybe not so strange?) love affair with third world countries. I find them incredibly fascinating. There's something about how great, welcoming and happy the people are that amazes me... I learn so much.

I love to hike and I love getting out to the mountains and breathe in the fresh air! Oh! And I'm ALWAYS up for road trips! I think they're fantastic!

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of Meatloaf here people! I love Damien Rice also! All sorts of music though really!

I love the book the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseni and enjoy reading any book written by Rohinton Mistry.

Movies... Loved Grease. Dancer in the Dark and American History X

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I believe it was living in Burkina Faso, West Africa that started my love affair with third world countries... I saw the difficulty, I saw the poverty, but I also saw so much more than that... I saw happiness and pride. The people there were so happy! It was great.

I volunteered for a hospital there and learned so much about their health care system. I saw births, I saw people come through emergency with ailments that we rarely have with here in Canada and still WE have the resources to deal with it. Through it all, people kept their optimism... Their strength of spirit is utterly unbeatable!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Cambodia, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
