I try to be a somewhat sustainable couchsurfer... to see what that means, click on the logo ;-)
I believed couchsurfing was an amazing project. You know you are never alone out there while traveling, there will always be someone who can help you. This is what the web was made for, interconnectivity.
But .org is a joke! I am really disappointed that couchsurfing changed from a NGO to a corporation. For me, couchsurfing was another way to circumvent the all encompassing capitalism. It was a way to give and take without money. But if that is one of my ideals, then that doesnt coincide with a for-profit website. The recent website-changes have also been very disappointing, as well as th new privacy policies. so i have decided to switch to bewelcome, which can better meet my ideals. But I will leave the profile for the references. to meet me at bewelcome (https://www.bewelcome.org/members/aswild) or sustainable couchsurfing!
one year later: ahhh, so ideological. tja, sometimes i end up being practical, so i am still here ;)
