About Me

ABOUT ME

Thinking and learning- either new skills or knowledge of any variety- that is my joy in life.

I am set on a quest to contemplate all major European artworks face to face; all major museums; at least once in my lifetime. (Art photos are nice but something is missing, most like a brain without a body.)

Interests

There is nothing I enjoy more than sharing a cup of chocolate with warm-hearted people, having abstract discussions while walking and exploring new territory.

I've had a long time engagement (formal training) in the following fields: printmaking, bicycling, martial arts, mathematics, artistic anatomy, argentinian tango, bellydance, polymer clay, philosophy - aesthetics and web design.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is "Le dit de Tian-Yi" by Francois Cheng. I hold dear authors that show the female side of things, like Simone De Beauvoir, Anais Nin, Izabel Allende and Virginia Woolf, but I generally rarely read literature.

My most frequent readings are philosophical (ex. Robert C.Solomon), informational (ex. "The Secret Pulse of Time" or "Ferma's Last Theorem") and tehnical (ex. on bookdinding). As you may have concluded I probably read a lot. A good resource is bookfinder. com for used books.

I prefer instrumental music or in languages I do not understand so I can only focus myself on the pleasure of the sound without the interruption of rational thoughts caused by the lyrics.

It is difficult for me to find any interest in special effects-only movies; what I enjoy the most are either the ones where the director's personality is solidly imprinted on the film or the ones with a strong historical tint and a focus in scenography (scenery, interiors, costumes).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A collection of memorable moments:

rowing in Versallies, bicycling alone during the night in Lesvos, gallery opening of exhibitions, feeding swans in Krakow, dancing tango on the streets in Bucharest after the end of the milonga, printing all night at my studio till the break of dawn, hugging Sally Potter outside of the London Opera, night swimming on the isolated Hiliadou beach with phosphorescent plankton shining like stars in the water

Teach, Learn, Share

I like languages, any kind, so I would be very keen to either learn your language or teach you any of mine. This period I am trying to focus mostly on french. (trying!)

I could share knowledge about Romania, Greece, (and their universities or anything), printmaking.. Please check my interests to see in what other fields I have had some experience :) (min. 1 year in each)
