PHILOSOPHY
"I try not to let my schooling interfere with my education" Mark Twain
I've learned so much from traveling and living my life how I see fit as opposed to following some rigidly safe path. I've also met people from extremely diverse backgrounds that have taught me a lot. I highly value my freedom and independence and try not to take any situation too seriously; however, there are some things I take very seriously. I am very passionate about music, animals, minority rights, womens rights and the environment. Traveling and different jobs have taught me patience and how to listen to all opinions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well, I'm new here but I look forward to exchanging ideas and perspectives with others. As I become more familiar with the city I would eventually love to show new people around. If things work out hopefully I'll eventually be able to host csers
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've stayed at two places and had excellent experiences each time. What a terrific way to connect with people! I can't wait until I can start hosting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2008 my friend and I drove my jeep cherokee from NH to CA. We camped out along the way and we met some very interesting people. I participated in the Backcountry Trails Program for 8 weeks last summer which involved me camping with my crew in the Klamath doing trail work. It snowed and rained a lot. Kind of reminds me of Portland.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've always been pretty good at living thriftily and resourcefully. I'm an ok cook, nothing to write home about, but there are a few vegetarian dishes I can prepare well. I'm decent with photography and can develop my own pictures, with the use of someone's dark room lol. I've been playing guitar off and on for a few years now and am decent. Although I can't say I've done it too much (coming from NH where the growing season is quite short) I do love to grow vegetables and herbs. I guess farming is something I want to learn more about. I have a bit of knowledge with camping and trail work as I had a job for 8 weeks living in the Klamath with a crew out of our tents doing trail work. I guess if you would like to photographically document the building of a trail in your backyard while being fueled by vegetarian cuisine I'm your girl.
