About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Desperatly trying to find inner peace by remaining passionate.
ABOUT ME
I am half Greek and half French, I speak Spanish and I am trying o learn Turkish (I fell in love with Istanbul when I went there in 2008).I play the accordion and generally enjoy traditional music (Mediterranean, Eastern Europe, Latin america).I lived in Dublin and Granada as an erasmus student, I teached French in Mexico for one year and I lived in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for a three months internship in subtitling. Like most people of this community, I like travelling and meeting all kind of people around the world, sharing points of vue, debating, growing and opening my mind.
PHILOSOPHY
Caminante no hay camino, se hace el camino al andar...
Try to enjoy every minute of your present life without being too nostalgic about your past and without planning and anticipating too much about your future (ha ha, so easy to say !)
Puede ser que la vida no sea siempre la alegre fiesta donde esperabamos llegar, pero ya que estemos aqui...a bailar!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Although I sometimes beware of the idea of belonging to particular "community" (somehow it can imply being "closed" and excluding other people) I finally went to my first CS meeting two years ago and I was really surprised : I really met a nice and interesting bunch of people and I might pay more attention to these gatherings from now on.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am happy to host when possible and have been hosted in Switzerland, Mexico, Istanbul and Rio de Janeiro so far.
Interests
I try to work as an audiovisual translator (English, Spanish, Greek, mainly subtitles). I have great interest for traditionnal music generally speaking, languages, history, I am quite interested in everything related to Greco-Turkish relations. But I am also very fond of Latin America and anything that has to do with identity issues (identity quest/questioning).

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoyed the movie "Frida" very much, Almodovar's movies and in particular "Volver", many French movies: "Avril", "Un long dimanche de fiancailles", "L'auberge espagnole"(this one would delight most couhsurfers!), "La Mome" etc...some Greek movies: "i xorodia tou Xaritona", "Politiki Kouzina" (it is indeed naive, but so few movies talk about this subject!), Fatih Hakin's movies of course, particularly "On the other side of heaven", wonderful movie "Mutluluk" (Abdullah OÄuz), Mexican movie "El Callejon de los milagros" and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to Dublin as an erasmus student and was quite impressed by the Giant's causeway in Northern Island and the Slieve League cliffs in county Donegal. With the wind blowing hard and grey threatening clouds, you feel the deep and misterious power of nature surrounding you and it wonderfully strikes you that you're just a helpless tiny grain of sand in this world.
I was also very impressed by the many Aztec and Mayan ruins in Mexico where I teached French for one year.
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak 4 languages (French, Spanish, Greek, English) I think I can say fluently now and it would be a pleasure to share this knowledge of languages and cultures with people who are really willing to learn. And it would great to open up and learn more about other languages and cultures in the process!
