About Me
I'm Athena, I'm 33 (almost) and in Greece, I work as a journalist.
However, I often travel around the world for months at a time... and during that time... I am not exactly working as anything. I usually pretend to be a teacher of English, in order to stay with local families and schools and spend time with the people of each country.
I'm veeeery easy to live with, I swear. I clean, I tidy up... I don't really cook.... but I am willing to take you out for dinner and buy all your drinks for you :D
Very respectful, can be super quiet if necessary and also very independent. You won't need to worry about me.
I also don't steal... well not often anyway... :DDDD
My social (so you can make sure I'm not a fake bot)
Instagram: @Athena.tzima

Facebook: @Athena Tzima (have been logged out for a year. Won't be able to contact you back)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's my passion really, travelling and meeting people from all around the world. This is why I got on couchsurfing... not the free stay ;D
If you agree to host me (I thank you, thank you, thank you, a million times over), expect to be bombarded by questions about your culture, your city, your (country's) political situation and its history.. I'm risking losing potential hosts by saying this, but oh well...
If you are knowledgeable about your country and have a passion for sharing your knowledge... well, I'm your woman. I will enjoy listening to you tremendously!
Music, Movies, and Books
The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (classic millennial), Fight Club, Call Me by Your Name, Lust/Caution, Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, The Wire...
Honestly, I've spent my life consuming content. It's nigh impossible to list everything I like. But trust me, whatever you like... I've probably watched it and am very willing to talk about it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Um... I got bitten by a dog in Northern Myanmar....
Teach, Learn, Share
I prefer to learn rather than teach... but having said that, I have taught English in various countries across South East Asia (and Japan). My job is also history-based, as I make historical documentaries. So I can definitely talk global and Greek history, as well as politics... and maybe teach you a few journalistic techniques, if you like.
I have also taught a single class on the Israel & Palestine conflict... which was part of my postgrad degree at SOAS University in London.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Pretty much whatever I wrote above.
But other than factoids, I am also a pretty sociable, cheery person. Love to go out for food and a drink, meet locals of all ages (if you have social grandparents, bring them round for a drink!) So hopefully... I can sing for my supper and provide my hosts with some entertainment.
