ABOUT ME

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer from New York currently teaching English at a university in Sichuan, China.

I enjoy learning languages and am currently studying Mandarin, Sichuan Dialect, Japanese and German. I also love meeting new people!

I love traveling and in 2010-11 spent 6 months abroad as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student to Hachinohe, Japan. I learned a lot about the Japanese language and culture and hope to one day return to Japan!

In summer 2014 I interned for an NGO known as Sustainable Rural Community Development (SURCOD) Organization in Malawi. This was an amazing experience that made me realize my passion for youth and education.

From September to December 2014 I studied Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan at National Chengchi University. I then traveled independently around Asia (Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong) staying at hostels and using WWOOF, Couchsurfing and WorkAway. From April 2015 to August 2015 I studied in Tokyo, Japan!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the future, when I have my own place, I hope to be able to host fellow travelers. For now though I want to meet people by going to events and couch surfing.
