About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn and grow personally while reducing my impact as much as possible

ABOUT ME

I am an outdoors oriented person - enjoy getting out and hiking, climbing and scuba diving. Am always interested in helping others find opportunities for these activities and more in the Shenandoah Valley or thereabouts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have extra space in my abode for person(s) who may want to crash for a night or two and find places to explore the outdoors in my area. I do not have any phone or television service at home, so the focus is not indoors but out!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a friend who works in the area that introduced me to the concept of couch surfing (he was crashing at my place a couple times a week to save on commuting expenses) - through him I met another person who is in the community and is into climbing

Interests

I am very involved with creative hands on activity, but I like to slow down with a good book (or three) and I am also very involved with computer tech stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

My all time fav books are the Dune series by Frank Herbert, but I also enjoy John Varley (Steelbeach) and some others - most recently I have been reading more of the investigative journalism type books (salt, omnivores dilemma) -- I am definitely an action movie person - I will try almost any book and watch most any movie - I am interested in most everything to some degree

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My Appalachian Trail Hike - most incredible experience that I have had - would recommend to anyone that has a stick to it attitude and wants to see just how far they can go. If you take your time, you will discover many new things about yourself - some which cannot be easily put into words, but they are with you for a lifetime.
