About Me

Hi! I’m Atul, a solo traveler currently based in Berlin, Germany. I enjoy traveling slowly, learning about local history, architecture, and everyday life, and connecting with people from different cultures.

I come from an academic and research background, so I’m naturally curious — I love conversations about cities, society, food, and how people live in different parts of the world. Travel for me is not about ticking places off a list, but about understanding a place through its people.

I’m also creating short travel videos and vlogs as a personal project, focusing on authentic city experiences rather than luxury tourism.

I am new to Europe and Germany is my first international stay and I came here for my studies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am using Couchsurfing because I genuinely enjoy cultural exchange. Staying with locals has always helped me understand a city beyond guidebooks, from hidden neighborhoods to daily routines and local perspectives. I prefer travel and explore than tourism and I always try to experience local culture and I think Couchsurfing can help me with that.

I’m not looking for a “free stay” — I’m looking for human connection, shared meals, conversations, and learning how locals see their own city.

Valencia (and Spain in general) fascinates me because of its layers of history, architecture, and Mediterranean culture, and I’d love to experience it through local eyes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories and perspectives from India, where I come from — a country that is both beautiful and wonderfully chaotic.

India is incredibly diverse. Languages, food, traditions, and ways of life can change every few kilometers, and it’s very common for people from different regions to not understand each other’s languages at all. Because of this, traveling within India is often an adventure in itself — full of surprises, challenges, and memorable moments.

I enjoy sharing my experiences of living and traveling across India, how people navigate such diversity, and what everyday life looks like beyond what is usually shown online or in movies. I’m also happy to suggest places to visit in India, from well-known destinations to lesser-known regions that many travelers miss.

Most of all, I enjoy open conversations, exchanging stories, and learning how life feels from another person’s point of view.
