About Me

My name is Aubrey Moore and my partner, Jan Wanot, and I are a lovely couple that like to travel around, network with new people, and share funny stories. Currently, we live in Frankfurt, Germany and are planning some awesome weekend getaways around Europe. We would like some support in accommodations. Our flights aren't too expensive, but it would still be great to save some money traveling and meet great people along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We've heard nothing but great things about Couchsurfing and are excited to try it out! Also, meeting new friends in different parts of the world is something we both value. Couchsurfing will allow us to sleep in a safe place, as well as, talk to the locals and hopefully create new, long-time friendships.

Interests

Our interests include traveling to different parts of the world, exploring new territories (both natural and manmade), eating different types of food, spending quality time with the people we love and care for, and learning and growing from the new experiences we share together.

Music, Movies, and Books

We dance everywhere we go. =D

Jan enjoys reading non-fictional books and Aubrey enjoys reading both, non-fiction and fiction.

We both enjoy a good amount of EDM, but also dabble in other genres that make us move. Testing our bodies with different types of dances and moves we learn in dance classes is something we would like to participate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Aubrey: Earlier this year, I quit my job and moved across the U.S. in search for a new career in teaching. I'm now contemplating teaching English as a foreign language in many parts of the world. I am unbelievably proud of myself and will never again fear the uncertainty the future holds for me; trust the universe.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are both educators in our own ways. Jan teaches Business Week to high schoolers every now and again, and actually started his career at Boeing that way. He started in Washington, but has also made trips to Poland (his native country) to teach there, as well. I (Aubrey) just began my teaching career in 2014 and am learning immensely about the types of things that inspire me. I've always wanted to improve, not only my life, but the lives of others around me and am figuring out in what ways I can do that.

We value the act of learning in its many forms, even it's frustrating ones. Traveling together has taught us many things about ourselves and how to effectively travel somewhere in a smart and safe way. Learning through experience is something we also value.

Continually attempting to step out of our comfort zones benefits our lives immensely and teaches us to live and relish in the present. We try to live in the present, though, it's very difficult at times. It's important to us to focus on what we're doing when we're doing it so as not to miss any important moments or feelings or thoughts.

We love sharing what we've learned and hearing what others have learned. Swapping stories with other people is something we each enjoy individually.
