ABOUT ME

I am a Norwegian man, currently living in Holmenkollen in Oslo. I am passionate about languages, psychology, sociology and travel. I value intelligence, education, and openness, and I dislike ethnocentrism.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is like being cool, if you have to try you're doing it wrong (I took that from Mark Manson). The best interactions happen when both parties communicate openly and honestly. Traveling is enriching if one dares to risk potentially awkward and/or stressful situations. Negative emotions are a part of life, and one should rather seek to handle them in the best way possible, as opposed to avoid them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only have one couchsurfing experience, which was meeting four people in Rome to hang out. We ended up eating a delicious pizza and enjoying some good conversation. It was great.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Italy to live with an Italian speaking family who didn't speak English, and I had never met any of them before. I realize that from a couchsurfer's perspective that might not be anything special, so I'll add that I got good grades on my exams.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about dealing with stressful and awkward situations abroad, based on previous experiences I have had while traveling. I consider myself to be reasonably proficient at learning languages. I may teach Norwegian which is my native tongue, I also speak English and Italian well enough to take part in conversations about various topics. I enjoy learning about life from people with experiences vastly different from my own. I intend to become a true global citizen, and every piece of advice for my upcoming journey will be greatly appreciated.
