Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Augustin. I am 23 years old, and I've completed a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and International Law at the University of Montreal. During my studies, I also worked as a server in a fine-dining restaurant in Montreal for over a year.
This experience allowed me to spend a year in Paris, exploring the world of haute cuisine at a Michelin-starred restaurant committed to sustainable resource use.
Now that this chapter of my life is over, I want to travel to broaden my understanding of the world and potentially discover new interests. That’s why I decided to pursue studies in Art and Cultural Sociology in Rotterdam.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I created my Couchsurfing account during a money-free hitchhiking tour across France in August 2022.
I decided to use it again to help me find accommodation during my hike from Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel in 20 days, where I was making a short film about my great-aunt.
Nowadays, I use Couchsurfing to be able to come to Rotterdam despite the housing crisis, at least at the beginning, in order to find my own place, meet people, and have a welcoming place to stay that allows me to start my studies without spending all my savings on overpriced hostels.
More generally, I use Couchsurfing to travel, discover the world, and immerse myself in environments I wouldn’t usually encounter.
