I have friends who are avid couchsurfers. I'm still new to the experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not had any official couchsurfing experience yet. I've done AirBnB. I always stay with friends and acquaintances when traveling. In my youth I booked punk rock shows and had bands stay on my floor. But, nothing as of yet associated with couchsurfing...

Intereses

I love being in the kitchen! Some of my favorite dishes that I've learned to make from others are Dal Tadka, Tom Kha coconut soup, Mujadara (rice and lentils).

Spending time outdoors to hike- or if I'm near the ocean- swimming.... I also love visiting springs- hot springs to soak and fresh water springs to drink from.

If music fits the mood or situation, I can enjoy it. Right now my top three Spotify stations are Regina Spektor, Bright Eyes, and the Spring Awakening Soundtrack.

I like comedies, romantic comedies, and pretty much any film that isn't too scary.

I enjoy reading for information usually more than reading fiction for pleasure. I really like Paulo Coehlo. I recently read "The Fault in Our Stars" in an airplane and I sobbed so much I almost embarrassed myself.

I really like spending just a little time alone when traveling. Traveling with a group is amazing and preferred. But figuring out a new city's transit system or finding your way when your cell phone has failed you is really empowering. Thriving and exploring in new environments can be healing to the soul.

Oh, and specifically- feeding an elephant bananas is also pretty amazing.
