About Me

I am a very friendly, outgoing person. I lived in London for a year and in Argentina for two months, so I'm quite an independent girl. I'm currently living in Perpignan, France and I'll be moving to Canada in January.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love to meet people in unconventional ways. I also like the idea behind the concept: to share a home in order to make new friends and get to know cultures different from one's own.

Interests

I love listening to music and going to gigs. Also, I'm very keen on literature as I've just graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Milan. One of the other things that I like is watching TV series and playing the ukulele (although I'm just a beginner). Last but not least, I adore art in general (i.e. going to the theatre, visiting museums, exhibitions and so on).

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I'm very eclectic. I listen to indie, rock, metal, hip hop, RnB, Pop, whatever basically. This is also why I like to discover new artists and types of music.
The same goes for movies. I'm very fond of TV series as well (particularly Game of Thrones, Sherlock, Shameless US, Orange is the New Black, Hannibal, True Detective, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Fall, Black Mirror).
At the moment, I'm reading books such as Murakami's "Norwegian Wood," Ishiguro's "The Remains of the Day," Calvino's and Buzzati's short stories, Pennac's "Journal d'un corps," Woolf's "To the Lighthouse" (about which I've written my BA thesis). I'm an omnivorous reader, basically :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During summer 2014, I went on a plane by myself and went all the way down to Cordoba in Argentina, in order to take part in a volunteering project. I couldn't speak a word of Spanish, so the first thing I did when I got there was to pick up a few idiomatic expressions. I surprisely managed to acquire an intermediate knowledge of the language in a few weeks and succeeded in going around the city by myself. This was mostly due to my amazing Spanish-speaking friends that I made there, and also to the children to whom I was teaching English. I still consider that experience as the most challenging and rewarding I've ever had (so far;)).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a very curious and friendly person. People generally say about me that I'm also very cheerful and that it's nice to have me around. I can also cook pretty well (according to what my friends and relatives say). I have a passion for languages in general and dialects as well. I'm also a keen theatre-goer and I really enjoy going to gigs too. I've a passion for translation and gender studies, as well as for literature. To sum up, I can share good company, passion for life and for all those things that make it enjoyable ;)
