About Me

CURRENT MISSION

heading to the USA for more than my fair share of Theatre, Arts, Nature and Disney.

ABOUT ME

Gday, i am a 37 year old Aussie male, finally making my way to the USA after many years of wanting. i finally have the time and almost the funds... the odd couch or spare room here and there would be an amazing asset to my journey. i am a very friendly, kind, out-going yet quiet, fun guy, who is clean and a great cook. happy to hang out with yet very comfortable being independent.
i work in the theatre industry here in Australia and am in between gigs at the moment with enough cash to visit the states for some theatre, art and cultural experiences, some disneyfication, and a ridiculously good time. love to meet some locals of San Francisco, Vegas, New York City and Orlando, if possible. that way you get an inside as to a local's way of living and not just walk around like a gawky tourist. love the theatre and live music, coffee, beers, and fringe or alternative instead of the mainstream all the time.

PHILOSOPHY

its all in my favourite musical...
'i chose and my world was shaken. so what? my choice may have been mistaken, but choosing was not... you have to move on'
(S. Sondheim, Sunday in the park with George'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

in the past i have housed friends of friends of friends and shown them around my home town of Melbourne, without cramping anyone's style or getting in the way. i am an hospitable host and when i get back to having a place of my own in the nearish future look forward to hosting folk once again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have traveled extensively throughout my own country and stayed with friends or friends of friends. mostly i have traveled with work and so accommodation is provided. this is my first self funded trip away, and apart from the odd weekender, my first actual holiday, so i am excited with a degree of nervousness which is i sure pretty normal. i am a grateful person who would be happy to show appreciation with some cooking and great conversation...

Interests

Theatre, Live Music, Art Galleries, Fringe, Coffee, Beer, (not really into clubs...but when in a new place you got to try things again!) walks, driving, scootering, food, cooking, movies and scrabble.

Music, Movies, and Books

Musicals, especially when they push the limits and challenge the mainstream, but then again i did tear up in 42nd Street, cos it was so bloody optimistic and bright. pure musical theatre!
Fringe and alternative theatre

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i am lucky enough to have seen most of the big brown land Australia, that i live in. its an impressive place, so much space and so diverse with red sandy deserts, to beautiful cities to rainforests that meet the beaches. i have also traveled with work to Singapore, the Philipines, and around the Islands of the South Pacific (the latter being love hate, cos i loved the islands but hated working on the cruise ship for 6 months... so not me!)

Teach, Learn, Share

from nights in with great wine, cheese, scrabble and conversation to energetic folk who just want to do stuff and be spontaneous. have a few beers, some great food and talk and see some weird things some crazy artist is doing down the road, around the block under the old bridge near the dilapidated fire station... sounds a bit scooby doo!
