About Me
I'm a native of the Texas Panhandle, where the land is so flat you can watch your dog run away for a week and the sunsets can't be beat.
My proudest accomplishment so far in life has been keeping not one, but two(!) plants alive for three years and counting. One is a rosemary, one is an aloe vera, and I'm sure both would be happy to tell you that I'm an excellent amateur gardener. Please don't ask them about the vegetable patch of 2016.
I love playing music, mostly bass, but also guitar and trumpet, and have played gigs all over Texas and occasionally in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado. I've mostly played in country and blues bands, but I listen to anything and everything.
I'm a sucker for boardgames, chess, and Dungeons and Dragons. I'm an amateur photographer, usually shooting nature stuff on hikes. Adventuring outdoors is awesome, and I love travelling in part because I get to see new flora and fauna wherever I go. Recently my favorite destination has been the mountains of New Mexico. I practice yoga and run, and would love to slackline and boulder more than I have.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a musician, I've always enjoyed hosting other bands when they pass through town. Several of the musicians I've hosted let me know about Couchsurfing, and it seemed like a great opportunity to extend that lovely sense of community to other travelers also.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I'm usually reading one or two books at any given time. For fun, I like sci-fi and fantasy, but I also like reading history and non fiction as well.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach basic guitar, bass, or trumpet lessons, explain how chess pieces move, and share some yoga basics.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm more than happy to help prepare dinner, play a tune or two, and swap stories!
