About Me
Hello!
I’m finishing my last year of college and thinking about what’s to come once the time comes. I study art history and love to talk about anything artsy, cultural, or just whatever fascinating things intersect in those areas. I love sharing time with people and am always wanting to learn and grow with others. I’m constantly inspired by those who I make contact with.
I love to get outside, I also love to lounge inside. Night in the city or a night under the stars, both will keep me intrigued. Cooking, then eating said cooked food is a constant pleasure. I love coffee, I like tea. I am always working towards active engagement with the world around me.
I’m planning to move towards teaching licensure in the next few years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have joined couchsurfing to have more meaningful connections with others while visiting new places. I enjoy new people and new environments.
Interests
I have so many interests. I would say my main interest is actively living, experiencing. Sounds weird. But I like the new and the old, feelings of unfamiliar excitement or nostalgic sensations. I hold my adventures close to my heart and value reflecting on them as I continue to grow as a person. Most of my favorite moments are emphasized by location or space.
I do like to get outside. I like to make art (t-shirts, collages, occasional painting). I enjoy dancing. I sing in the car.
Art, music, family, friends, animals, and the environment are things I enjoy a lot. They influence my perceptions. I used to read so much as a kid I would put books on the inside of my math binder during middle-school lessons, usually always getting caught. My reading really hasn’t been up to par since then, no longer risking my arithmetic to fully immerse myself in the story. However, I really miss that kid gusto I had towards books. I would like to trade academic reading for books once graduating. Also just watching less movies (though I’ll save a special spot for them in my heart).
I surely have more interests, however they are ever changing and refuse to be labeled.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have been on a big Jeff Buckley kick recently, but all music is pretty keen on me. I mostly listen to various types of rock, soul, and rap.
Movies, boy do I love movies. Can’t pick one. Here’s two: Network (1976), Easy A (2010). I’ve always enjoyed just watching a movie with snacks and maybe a little commentary.
Currently reading the Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I found my grandmother’s copy. I heard recently that he had stolen the idea. I read a lot of non-fiction as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Fell off a motorbike twenty minutes after rental then drove 70km.
Also parasailing with my mom and sister.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to have conversations that connect the past to the present. I find most of the similarities and differences in humanity follow patterns, we could get into weird talks about that.
I know a bit of French and Spanish. I would say I can be conversational in both, but I need practice. We could try to carry on conversations in these languages.
There are little bits of information on various topics that I’d say I have stored away. I’m sure we can find something in common. I like physical activities (yoga, biking, climbing), cultural topics, and food/drink pairings.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am super more than willing to prepare some sort of meal or go out and explore the local area while visiting with you. I’m not sure what else I could truly share, small facts on various subjects I suppose.
