About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring Berlin and living a life without hassle!

ABOUT ME

We are a couple and like to think of ourselves as open minded people, who want to see as much of the world and find out about other people, cultures and ways to live a life. Travelling therefore is an essential activity for us and we try to devote as much time as possible to it.

Gabi is a social worker and deals with not-so-privileged fellows in different ways, while David is an architect and tries to understand how cities, buildings and people interact. We are not sure yet, but somehow we will connect those things and once work with people and space. On the street and in theatres. Or so. Or just spend our life travelling, we'll see...

We share our lives with each other now for more than ten years and are quite happy that we still inspire ourselves frequently.

PHILOSOPHY

There is always a way!

Or:

Schau ma moi, dann segma scho!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We know about CS for a long time now but still are rather new to it. At the moment we basically enjoy CS meetings and hopefully surf a couch anytime soon. In late spring we finally be back in our hometown and offer a couch ourselves (as soon as we have a flat again ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not surfed yet, not hosted yet. We want to change that!
Only met CS people at meetings and of course we heard so much about it from fellow travellers and friends.

Interests

Meet people, tell and listen to stories, get to know different lifestyles, hike and trek through beautiful places, drive around Europe in our car, make new plans all the time, try to avoid routine, travel by train, take good and not-so-good pictures, read, watch good movies, learn about architecture and urbanism on the spot, dance all night long (rather Gabi) and things like that...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We wanted to see the world, so we took a year off (in the end it wasn't that difficult). We learned, that if you want it, you can do it. That almost everything is possible.
And so we found ourselves swimming in frozen Lake Baikal, riding through the endless steppes of Mongolia, climbing mountains in rural China, learned how to drive a motorbike to reach lonely beaches, haggled in so many languages, spent plenty hours looking at the world out of a train/bus/boat/car ... and met so many people that enriched our lives.

Well, at least that's what kept us busy the last couple of months ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Gabi can teach you how to move, dance, control your body, act or - hopefully you have no need to - use drugs without dying from it (as that is part of her job). David can show you the power and danger of architecture and urban planning and connect it to history and philosophy. Well, if that's nothing for you we can also introduce you to the high- and not-so-highlights of Austrian culture (no, it's not only about Schnaps and Schnitzel) or simply recommend a whole lot of movies...
