Hey there! I’m Avinash – but most people just call me Avi.

I moved to the U.S. from India about two years ago, and it’s been quite a ride so far! I’ll be living here for another three years, and before I head back home, I’ve set myself a personal goal: to explore all 50 states, meet amazing people, and collect stories and experiences that will stay with me for life.

My passion for travel started early—thanks to my dad, who encouraged me to volunteer across different states in India when I was growing up. Those early experiences not only gave me a taste of adventure but also helped me appreciate the beauty of human connection and different cultures. That’s what drives me even today.

I believe traveling is more than just seeing places—it's about the people you meet, the conversations over a shared meal, the laughs in a new city, and even the awkward moments that turn into unforgettable memories. Couchsurfing, to me, is the perfect platform to experience that.

By profession, I’m in tech (surprise, surprise!) but when I’m not working, you’ll probably find me hiking a trail, lost in a book, exploring local food spots, or just vibing to music. I’m always up for a deep conversation, a spontaneous plan, or learning something new—whether it’s a dance move, a recipe, or just a local custom.

I’m on this journey not just to explore the U.S., but also to explore myself. Every new place teaches me something, and every person I meet adds a little bit to my perspective on life.
