I read the world's great literature at an early age.

Later experienced the full spectrum life, laughter and the unbearable lightness of being. . . Ate from the tree of life . . .

Realize life can only be understood backwards, but must be lived forwards.

Looking forward to measuring time in moments instead of minutes. . and exploring the world for signs of creative and intelligent life. . .

PHILOSOPHY

I try to make life purposeful and meaningful. That means different things at different times with different people. There is a time for every thing under the sun. . .

Instead of talking about changing and repairing the world, etc, how about doing one random act of kindness for one person, one day at a time, and then paying it forward to the next person.

Understanding that we cannot change the world by ourselves, but each of us can still do our modest share. Sometimes, just sharing a cup of coffee and listening is the greatest gift we can give a fellow traveler.

I'm really too new to CS. Right now, just examining future possibilities and trying to figure out if altruism (unselfish kindness, compassion and understanding) is really alive and well on CS, or is it something else? Join me in the quest!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

just got verified hours ago and am slowly getting my feet wet. Will attend my first event in Chinatown this evening. So far, I like the concept of making positive, safe and meaningful connections with fellow sojourners who want to build a world community of good will and helpfulness. Perhaps this will be one of the movements that brings about a more peaceful world based on mutual respect, shared understanding and acquired sensitivity for more and more people, etc.

Interests

books, films, historical/philosophical ideas, learning new things about subjects that I previously thought I knew all there was to know about the subject. Realizing that the more I know, the less I know. . .

Love meaningful films ("Rashomon", "Cinema Paradisio" "Sundays and Cybelle") and European cinema in particular (Resnais, Truffaut, Fellini, Lelouch etc.), good literature, music, just relaxing in a flower or stone garden, etc.

I am willing to share parts of my life when I think it will benefit and help others to live more courageously and meaningfully. After all, the unreflected life is not worth living. It's wonderful when people can learn from each other . . .
