About Me

Whenever I'm in a new place I love to just wander around the streets and see where I end up, and especially explore the foods I find along the way.

I'm always up for an adventure with friends--new and old, and if it involves live music or eating all the better!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to meet new people who can teach me something and have fun adventures with while at home and traveling. I love learning about other cultures and how people live.

Interests

Photography, live music and outdoor concerts, sharing a good meal, laughing, dancing the night away, swimming in the ocean, '90s movies, colorful scarves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel lucky because I had trouble choosing just one, but this amazing experience is also the latest: On a recent trip to Bali by boyfriend and I were invited to a large annual ceremony at a Hindu temple in the village next to where we were staying. The man who invited us brought us into his home and dressed us in beautiful traditional clothes before bringing us to the moon temple.

Although I couldn't understand most of what was going on during the ceremony I was amazed by the colors, energy and excitement all around. The women balanced huge offerings on their heads and presented them to likenesses of the gods and spirits; musical groups played ancient songs under the rain, and the priests showered worshipers with holy water. There were flowers, incense, colorful batiks and chanting all around me. It was a bit overwhelming but incredibly beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty good cook and I know a lot about cameras, I can talk about either of those for a long time. I also love learning and teaching languages.
