About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discovering new worlds and people

ABOUT ME

I am a forever student who love to learn from different countries and cultures. My family is from northern France but I have been living in Canada, Scotland and Switerland over the past few years and hope to keep moving to other countries in the future. I love the experience of starting everything over again and again in different places, making new friends (of course I keep all the previous ones!) learning how other people live, discovering all these little things that make us different or similar to each other.

At the moment, I am a planetary researcher. I have been working on research projects in Earth and planetary sciences and remote sensing, using satellite and spacecraft images to study the Nasca pampa in Peru, the geology of the Moon, or currently as part of a PhD project, the surface of Mars. I am (finally!) about to finish my PhD and I am looking forward to move on to new experiences and projects, which include long travels to new places and new friends.

PHILOSOPHY

Why not?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new here, looking forward to my first CS experience.

Interests

Sports: hiking, skiing, martial arts (I practise jujitsu but I am interested in all types of martial arts), sailing (mostly on small sport catamarans but would like to sail on larger boats too), running, beginner in rock climbing.

Going "castle hunting": hunting for and exploring ruins of castles, roman and other ruins, megaliths and all types of old stones, especially the hidden ones, those away from the main touristic roads.

Astronomy, with a telescope or just by lying on the ground in the middle of nowhere and watching the stars.

My two dogs

Italian gelati! :)

Dark and cynical humour

Photography,painting and drawing

I like to experiement on cooking desserts (cakes, cookies, creams, ice creams...) from time to time, experimenting because I can never follow a recipe without modifying it in some fantasist way.

Learning new languages (still trying to understand swiss german, also learning italian and mandarin), discovering new cultures and meeting people from all over the world. Travelling, going to concerts, spending evenings chatting or playing board games, role playing games or video games with friends...and so many more things.

2 weeks in Japan guided by a Japanese friend. I loved it, everything was so different, so fascinating, it felt like another planet.
Travelling in the Canadian Rockies (region of Lake Louise and Banff), meeting a wolf on the road in the evening light. Then travelling from Calagary to Glacier National Park in Montana, watching thousands of stars from somewhere in the middle of these amazing mountains.
