I am Axel, a 21 year old student in Breda, the Netherlands. I study Urban Design, a field that allows me to look at the world trough a different lens, to see how people live in the world that we have created ourselves. When I am traveling, I try to see how people live in this context and how it differs from my own known context. Also I am always seeking the natural beauty while traveling. I travel often with friends or by myself, I have done solo traveling only in Europe but then I am still young and there are still many places to be discovered!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet people (outside of the hostels) during travel to share a drink with and hear about their stories. And to sometimes have a place to stay that is not in the hostels.

Interests

I am always interested to see how other people live their life in other contexts then my own, I mostly travel just to see the daily life elsewhere. I like exploring and getting lost. I love to hear people stories and thear life, but also like to get into a conversation or a discussion (which is for me perfectly fine if it gets a little bit heated, as long as we stay good and respectfull with each other)

Music, Movies, and Books

I myself play french horn in 2 Orchestras at home, making me most interested in classical music, I enjoy Mahler and Richard Strauss a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been on an internship in Cape Town, South Africa. Where I was working for an NGO called Young Urbanists, we worked closely with (or often against) the municipality to challange their decisions and advocate for safer infrastructure and more valuable public space.
