I think, it's much more interesting to stay at houses of a locals, because it's the only way for understanding others mentality.
For me, Couchsurfing is amazing opportunity to find out what the real World is.

Classic music, as "The Rolling Stone", "Led Zeppelin", a lot of the UK's and the USA's 'classic'. Common classical music, especially Russian composers: Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Khachaturian, Sviridov.
I'm a bit of a movie nerd) So, it's Tarantino, Allen, Almodovar, Coen brothers, von Trier, Greenaway, Tarkovsky, Lynch and so many others.
Love modern TV shows: GoT, Homeland, Fargo, Breaking Bad, Downton Abby, Sherlock, Scrubs, Daria, Father Ted, Green Wing, etc.
I love literature and theater. Have a travel dream to visit drama theaters in London, NY, Sydney.
