About Me

Previous history of art student in France, I am currently studying political science in Morocco. I am a woke, cool pan-African kid yet most people think I am uptight because I don't laugh at racist, sexist and homophobic jokes. That being said, I am a very open minded, spontaneous and outgoing person with a fine sense of humour. I can also define myself as a great cook, and an animal lover. I have three cats, two ducks and few chickens. I am a human rights and animal rights advocate. There is nothing I enjoy more than deep conversations over a glass of wine and adventurous trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to get to meet up with like minded people. Or even people who do not think as me, since the very essence of this journey is to discover new places, cultures as well as people.

I am also all up for accepting guests who are visiting around. If you do not speak well Arabic, French nor Amazigh I can help you out with that as well.

Interests

Poetry, art, literature, gastronomy and cinema. I also enjoy meditating, gardening, long sunrise walks, and cycling.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to rock music : the Doors, the Rolling Stones, the Police, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, the Who, the Beatles, Nirvana, Pink Floyd or even more recent groups such as Arctic Monkeys and the Kooks.
I also like jazz and blues : Billie Holiday, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse.
I am a huge fan of classical music : Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Chopin, Bach, Vivaldi, Prokofiev, Clara Schumann, Mussorgsky
And I love Arabic-Jewish-Amazigh music : Fairouz, Oum Kalthoum, Asmahane, Abdel Halim Hafiz, Haja Hamdaouia, Warda, Hindi Zahra, Oum, Yasmine Hamdan, Mashou' Laila, Ghalia Ben Ali, Neta Elkayam, Raymonde Abecassis, Jadel

Here are some of my favorite writers of all time in a very messy and disorganized order : De Beauvoir, Virginia Woolf, Nawal Saadawi, Joumana Haddad, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Emma Goldman, Michel Onfray, Christopher Hitchens, Judith Butler, Charles Bukowski, Baudelaire, Hannah Arendt, Dawkins, Neruda, Schopenhauer, Deleuze, Nietzsche, William James, Michel Foucault, Camus, Sartre, Proudhon, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Alan Ginsburg, Kerouac, Kundera, Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Kafka, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Hemingway, Abdellah Taïa, Abu Nawas, Rumi, Ibn Arabi, Nizar Qabani, Paul Verlaine, Rimbaud, JK Rowling, GRR Martin, Stephen King etc.

Some of my favorite movies: Start Wars, Star Trek, The Hunger Games, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and all Quentin Tarantino's movies, Shining, Orange Mechanic and many other Kubrick's master pieces. I also love Lars Von trier's work, and I am huge fan of Xavier Dolan! I recently liked Call me by your name and Disobedience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going for a night swim in Emilia Romagna in Italy.
Getting our car broken and then getting lost late at night in the very heart of Lisbon.
Cycling in the Heybeli Island after having a taught day in a Turkish gay pride that was violently put down.
Celebrating Christmas in Denmark with a stranger's family who didn't speak a word in English.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Arabic, French as well as some Amazigh, which is the Native North African language.
I would love to learn new languages, and know more about new cultures.
I am all up for sharing laughter, love and inspiration.
You can also share your stories and experiences with me, I can be a good listener.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can make you yummy Moroccan mint tea. I can travel with you within Morocco or just go for long night walks in the streets of Rabat/Temara. We can practice yoga, or read numerous books. Even though I am not a huge fan of wild parties, I wouldn't mind partying with you in some of the city's clubs.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Vatican City State, Western Sahara

Countries I’ve Lived In
