ABOUT ME

My fiancé and I are down-to-earth, fun-loving people that love adventures. Ayla is an artist and John is a registered nurse. We're always laughing. If you get annoyed by happy couples, well, still check us out. We're pretty cool. We value making stories we can one day tell our grandchilden. Scratching off bucket list items is our passion.

Interests

Travel (of course), music, history, art, recovery, the ocean and learning. Ayla wants to start learning as many different languages as her head will allow.

Music, Movies, and Books

John plays guitar and bass. He considers himself a music aficionado and, though he can't remember lyrics very well, has a knack for good tunes. His favorite is Reggae. Ayla loves everything but country and most currently popular forms of rap. 90's rap and alternative music is tied as her favorite, along with big band jazz and standards from the 40's and 50's. (Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Ella, etc.)
Johns favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut (though he hasn't read many of his books) and Ayla likes a variety. From Jean Auel, where her name is from, to Chuck Palanhiuk, Ekhart Tolle to Charles Buckowski. Large spectrum here. Despite what some of the spelling and punctuation errors might imply, we swear, we love to read and value education.
We are usually entertained by any movie we watch and rank them as "watchable again" or "a one time thing". Ayla loves documentaries and comedies, John likes drama and action. We both like every genre though and who doesn't like a good indy flick?

Teach, Learn, Share

A smile and pleasant company. We love to laugh and to hear and tell stories, but at the same time can definitely amuse ourselves for hours. We are clean and mindful of others. We don't drink or do drugs. Eventually, when we get settled, we'd like to offer our place in Maui as a "couch". So the opportunity to make a travel connection with others and building a friendship is something we can offer too.
