I'm currently in a transition phase of my life. After 12 years in California, I have recently moved back to my native Texas and am currently seeking work as an accountant in either Waco, Austin, Dallas/Ft. Worth, or Houston.
I love to travel -- lived in Saudi Arabia and Dubai for 7 years and traveled extensively around the world while stationed there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I'm waiting for the right job opportunity to present itself, I have decided to embark on a road trip of the lower 48 United States (with a few side trips into Canada!), partially inspired by the optimal road map of the 48 contiguous U. S. states developed by Randal S. Olsen:

I began this trip in early May 2015 and expect it to take about six to eight weeks to complete.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must acknowledge that I'm a virgin to Couchsurfing and was only recently introduced to the app. I am hoping to experience it during my trip! :)

Interests

Outside of traveling, I love to read, jog, play racquetball/tennis, gamble, and play with my dog Sissy.

When traveling I like to commune with nature and just soak up the beauty of the local environment. I am always on the lookout for extreme sports activities, especially those involving heights (skydiving, paragliding, hang gliding -- you get the picture).

Music, Movies, and Books

As befitting my age, my favorite music is an eclectic variety of music mostly from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I also love instrumental jazz, especially Spyro Gyra and Acoustic Alchemy.
Love watching and going to the movies and enjoy a wide range of genres, mostly drama and comedy. Monty Python & The Holy Grail and Airplane! are right up at the top of my favorite comedies.
I'm a voracious reader, especially nonfiction and biographies. Am also a political junkie and am constantly reading the posted articles on RealClearPolitics.com and Politico.com.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee jumped 1000 ft from a helicopter in New Zealand (as well as several other bridge bungee jumps in NZ)! I will bungee jump anytime, anywhere!
