About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Escape This Daily Grind & Get Moving!!!

ABOUT ME

If I must be summed up in a few adjectives I guess I can start with chameleon-ish, able to adapt and fit in with any group or situation. Sometimes a quiet observer, sometimes the life of the party. Generous, loving and trustworthy. The kind of person who would share half a meal with a stray dog. Back in the day I started a party wherever I went, but my wild party days are long gone. Don't get me wrong..I still like to enjoy a few drinks from time to time, But in a much more relaxed atmosphere. I've gone from club girl to pub girl. I'm on a new type of crazy now. I want to go everywhere, see everything and know everyone. I want to break free of the American bubble and experience the world in a way that doesn't require a large bank balance and carefully planned itinerary in sterile hotels where no one makes eye contact.

PHILOSOPHY

“That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. Most people love you for who you pretend to be. To keep their love, you keep pretending - performing. You get to love your pretence. It's true, we're locked in an image, an act - and the sad thing is, people get so used to their image, they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And if you try to remind them, they hate you for it, they feel like you're trying to steal their most precious possession.”
― Jim Morrison
Give me your weird, awkward, rootless, flailing and directionless. I'm an extremely open minded, down to earth person who loves the unconventional person, place or activity. Lets talk about everything and nothing. No subject is taboo..many who have tried have failed at offending me. Tell me what you really think..how you really feel..even if in the past you may not have been well received. Express your opinion confidently and your needs in the most forthright manner possible. It's possible to do this without being obnoxious or hurting anyone. As in all things there must be balance...Being true and honest is no exception.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I work steadily through the school year, but for the coming Summer I am planning a 90 day tour of the Balkans. In exchange for a longer than usual stay I can offer English lessons, work of some sort, housekeep, cook, pet sit, anything. I am currently living in a hostel and am not at liberty to offer beds for free. For now I must only participate as a surfer. But, if you are in town or live here and just want to meet for a drink or something, don't hesitate. I'm new to the area and could use a friend or two.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for the first time in March in Prague and it was great. My host was so welcoming and helpful and we have been keeping in touch. I also was amazed at how many invitations I received in response to my open request. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience.

Interests

I'm always seeking a challenge. I'm not sure why, but I crave difficulty...to truly be out of my comfort zone. I'm interested in history, culture, archeology, conspiracy theories (don't get me started ;), the supernatural, video games, food, alcohol, but most importantly the person within..I come from a culture where creating and maintaining a facade is a lifelong project. It's so exhausting to get through all that and reveal the real person. If and when we meet can we please just skip that part?

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music..I like most movies..everything doesn't have to be deep and inspiring. Sometimes its just entertainment. But I do have my favorites. As a Lit. major I have read almost every piece of significant classic literature. I enjoy reading memoir the most. There is nothing more fascinating than the life story of a person who is dropping the veil on their lives and telling the story like it is and not apologizing to whoever doesn't like it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is nothing truly old in my country. Since I have been here everywhere I look there is something beautiful to see. I never get tired of just watching the streets go by as I ride the bus everyday. Last year I sold almost everything I own and walked away from what most would consider a successful and well established life. My only desire is to be truly effected..moved by people, places and experiences. I just couldn't find what I was looking for back home.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have never traveled outside the U.S. before last year. It's not as difficult as I imagined, but there were many challenges I never expected. If you are new to traveling..especially in this manner and especially if you're from the U.S. You must create and accept a fresh perspective on life. You have to let go of some of those old habits, thought processes, assumptions, expectations, patterns of behavior, etc. or you will be disappointed. I can also teach you English.
