About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hide burried treasure in Kylemore Abbey

ABOUT ME

If you asked my best friend/roommate about me, he would say that I am loyal, diligent, (somewhat overly hospitable), and gentle. I am ambitious, contemplative and charismatic.

PHILOSOPHY

Hope is the most important thing to me, I believe there is always hope, even for humanity!
Only make new mistakes: Why make the same old ones that everyone else does?
Fathom often. Not to assuming that full understanding is attainable, but because such is our nature - and because the journey is sometimes more important than any finish line.
Trust God, love people. Though people will inevitably let you down, it is still worth it.
Never give up hope! Hope is what stirs in us life. Do not disillusion yourself to think that hope is unbreakable. It is just as vulnerable as we are... but, if you never let go even amidst the breaking, hope will never leave you, and new life will stir.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will soon travel through Western Europe for 3 months and have been using CS to get in contact with people there. I live in an apartment with 3 roommates but have extra space for guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travel like Bear Grylls !

Interests

I love deep conversation, especially about something important like theology. I am passionate about mentoring and intimate relationship, but also love to experience life and make new friends. I enjoy dancing, playing Ukulele, and spending quality time with people I care about.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to dance! My favorites are Swing, Tango, and Gangnam Style(lol)
I read a lot, mostly for University, but also for myself

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lead a mission trip to Mexico a few years ago and learned that I am most fulfilled when trusting in God.

I worked with orphans in Ukraine 6 years ago, and on the last day, a child gave me a toy. It was probably their only possession. She told me she would pray for me. I was deeply humbled.

I mentor teenagers and one day, I was teaching them about relationships and we did an exercise which involved me, with their encouragement to ask out a girl I had known for some time. I did, and she said "no". I then had to model right perspective in rejection, my teenagers comforted me which was a strange switch of role, but we all learned a lot. I was humbled.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learn the difference between the "urgent" and the "important" - Henri Nouwen
Don't take life too seriously, stress only compounds the aging process and turns people into puppets of their own emotions.
Always be willing to let go of a personally held understanding, I would rather be proven wrong than live a lie.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love hosting! Come ready for adventure and to learn and share. I was taught that Couch Surfing is all about sharing cultures and experiences. In England, and Amsterdam, I taught the children of my hosts how to play Ukulele; In Italy and Paris, I taught Swing Dancing.

If you love music, lets play together! If you don't know how to play an instrument, I'll teach you:) If you want to learn how to dance I have taught classes of 50+ people and have choreographed duets. If you want to try authentic food from any given culture, I'll drive us in to the city of LA and we'll pick up anything you feel to be in the mood for. If you want to discuss theology, anthropology, sociology, psychology...etc, you'll find me intellectually hospitable and encouraging of curiosity!
