About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy life in this corner of Mexico and travel as much as possible.
ABOUT ME
My husband and I retired to Mexico in 1993, lived in Paamul and Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo for 14 years. Did a lot of scuba diving, made a lot of friends. Moved to Coatepec, Veracruz in 2007.
John passed away June 30, 2012. I have moved since then, and welcome Couchsurfers to my new home. If you are interested in coffee, orchids or the Anthropology Museum in Xalapa, come see me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting new people, and while I don't get around much anymore, I can still entertain guests and give them a comfortable place to stay.
Interests
Learning Spanish, teaching basketmaking; weaving, other "manualidades", writing, proofreading.

Music, Movies, and Books
I started an English book exchange in Coatepec in 2009 in order to satisfy our reading needs, and it is flourishing. If you have a book to trade, or just want to read, this is the place. The book exchange has both English and Spanish books now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been to Lalibela in Ethiopia to see the churches carved into the rock.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am teaching variations on crochet using recycled materials--mostly plastic bags and old tee shirts. Also teach weaving, knitting, other "manualidades."
I am trying to improve my Spanish, but despair of ever becoming fluent.
Countries I’ve Visited
Congo, Egypt, France, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Sierra Leone, Spain, Sudan, Tanzania
Countries I’ve Lived In
