ABOUT ME

I am studying Arabic at the University of Manchester and am currently undertaking my year abroad in Damascus Syria. I spent 3 moths in Egypt when I was 18 where I became TEFL Qualified, though I have not put this to use as much as I would have liked to. Traveled through Europe a year later appreciating good food and good beer which made our trip shorter than intended. I really love to meet new people and experience new things like everyone on this site. I have an interest in Religion of the Middle East, past and present, and basically just how we all got where we are now from where we all used to be. I like to learn and I like to teach. Sometimes I play guitar.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't used Couch Surfing in over 2 years, but am planning a trip through Central Asia where I intend to use it a LOT! So, its only fair for this to be a 2 way thing. I am more than happy for people to come to Damascus to visit and maybe stay for a few days.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have only used it once in Poland, but it was excellent in spite of our host being extremely busy with work for the time we were there. Really want to begin using this site now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yazidi Temple in Lalesh, Kurdish Iraq. We met the leaders of their faith, walked around a load of hills bare foot, had lunch with them before they took us around their sacred rooms and let us join in their rituals! Amazing people.
