About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to become a bear-bag-hanging aficionado

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Jessie! I'm from the Bay Area and I lived in Chile for two years! I love everything about being outside (including rainstorms)! I am an avid hiker, biker, runner, and park-lounger.

PHILOSOPHY

Dance parties are always welcome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people who also have a fondness for traveling and the fun shenanigans that it entails.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While traveling to San Diego/ Mexico, my friend and I couchsurfed at an older couple's home in Southern California. The husband's father had been a traveling professor in the South during the civil rights movement and Martin Luther King, Jr. had been over to their house many times for dinner. He said Dr. King was funny and extremely friendly.

Interests

I love being outside. I love tea, picnics, hiking, ice cream, and puppies. I'm a sucker for pop culture references and bike rides.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Harold & Maude, Dear Frankie, the Darjeeling Limited, Wet Hot American Summer, and Hocus Pocus.

Music: the Decemberists, the Avett Brothers, Heartless Bastards, and anything with a fiddle.

Books: Half in Love, The Joke, The Year of Magical Thinking, Catch-22, Happy Baby, and To Kill a Mockingbird.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driving from Berkeley to Vancouver, British Columbia with some really awesome friends. (It involved a lot of sleeping in parking lots, law-breaking, and a car that was on the verge of collapse. Worth it.)

Although carrying my tiny friend Rad on my back through the streets of Fribourg, Switzerland at 3 in the morning because she twisted her ankle was pretty awesome too...until we fell face first in the street.
