ABOUT ME

I am an aspiring nursing student. I love being around people and helping people and meeting new people. I have always wanted to be a nurse since I was kid and I'm currently working on making that dream happen. I'm all about making things happen in life. You don't get anywhere by sitting around and hoping that your life will happen or that great things will come to you. Hard work and sheer determination have gotten me so far in life already. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I lived in the Caribbean for a while and found myself while I was there. During the summer, I try to go on as many backpacking/camping/boating trips as I can manage. It's the best part of summer! I have a wonderful family who are so supportive and such good examples to me. They are my best friends. I love to be spontaneous and going on new adventures whenever the occasion should arise, or rather, whenever I make the adventure happen. I'm looking forward to my next adventure of travelling in Europe!

PHILOSOPHY

I think that this world is a beautiful place and that every person alive is worth something. It is so important to be kind to each other and treat people how you would want to be treated and to do service for others. You never know what someone is going through and a friendly smile is so much more effective than anger and impatience. I live my life to try to make other's lives better. Life is hard enough as it is, I'm trying to look for the joy and the beauty in it.

Interests

I love to read! I will read anything under the sun that piques my interest. I love to go on outdoor adventures, ie: hiking, rappelling, river rafting to name a few. I love music and the theater. I try to get outside and run as often as possible. I live at the base of a large mountain range, with access to multiple canyons and trails and like to take advantage of hiking when the weather is good.

Music, Movies, and Books

I live and breathe music! I enjoy any type of music, excepting screamo and most rap, and can rarely be found without my iPod in my hand. I love Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, Of Monsters and Men, Sigur Ros, The Temper Trap, Tim McGraw, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, to name a few. Some favorite books are Wuthering Heights, The Book Thief, The Life of Pi, The Harry Potter series, The Fault in Our Stars, The Goose Girl... this list is never-ending. Movies....those are tough, I enjoy just about any well-made movie; Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, The Book Thief, About Time, Love Actually, Silver Linings Playbook, The Lord of the Rings

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to live in the Caribbean for 4 months and it was the craziest, most amazingly wonderful experience of my life! The people of St. Thomas are my favorite and it was such a culture change for me to move down there. I was able to see all of the Virgin Islands plus some more Caribbean islands, go parasailing, snorkelling, swimming with Dolphins, and on some breathtaking boat trips around the islands. Living there gave me the travel-bug and I can't wait to see more of the world and of different cultures and peoples.
