About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore Sicily!!
ABOUT ME
I LOVE teaching art history. I LOVE baking. Sometimes the two of those collide and magic occurs (I have a cake pan shaped like a medieval fortress!!).
I'm looking forward to improving my Italian. I just moved to Palermo for doctoral research, and I am looking forward to exploring other regions, especially in southern Italy. Food. Interesting people. Architecture. The sea. I'm so glad to be here!
PHILOSOPHY
I study the power of art and why it's not "quite useless."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I'm looking to participate as a surfer. I'm traveling a lot right now, so hosting will have to wait for a bit.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had great fun meeting up in New Orleans last year with a bunch of surfers, and I can't wait to add some more experiences here!

Music, Movies, and Books
For pleasure, I'm reading "Good Omens" and the poetry of A.E. Stallings and Salvatore Quasimodo.
For study purposes, I'm reading about the Mosque of Damascus and Medieval Armenian architecture.
I've been watching Carl Sagan's love television series while eating dinner this week.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent the most overwhelming month of my life in Javols, France, excavating on the site of Anderitum at a 1st-century BCE-CE Rome villa. I had never seen a night sky so beautiful, nor worked so hard!
Countries I’ve Visited
