About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm currently trying to be more of a free spirit.
ABOUT ME
My friends would probably call me a thinker and a tinkerer. My college degree is in mechanical engineering, but I really wish I had taken more classes in languages and philosophy. I recently moved into a new house, so I'm getting used to the new digs. Fortunately, I have a spare room with a queen bed...and of course a couch.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't lived anywhere very highly visited, so I've only hosted a few surfers. For those that have stopped in, I've always enjoyed the company. Menominee is a gem that's often overlooked. Every time I have surfed with anyone it's been a great experience.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Most of my travelling is done for work or to visit friends that have moved across the country. The few times I have stayed with anyone we've hit it off quickly.
Interests
Much time is spent maintaining the house and trying to stay physically active. I enjoy tennis, racquetball, and bicycling.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Both the Grand Canyon and Denali National Park made me speechless. I've been to the Eiffel Tower which, while very beautiful, failed to live up to the grandeur expected.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've enjoyed living life in the 21st century without participating in every new fad that comes along. I'd probably have been better off living in the 50's. I use old maps, still have a flip phone, and have never tweeted. Life is too short to keep your head buried in a "personal device." I try to bike commute whenever possible and have used my garden and chickens to considerably reduce my grocery budget. I'm currently learning how to use a slide rule.
